Will One Of These Kids Win A Nobel Prize One Day?

Today some students from SBHS and some older students from Chamberlin (including Oskar's big brother!) gave us a presentation to celebrate Martin Luther King's Birthday.  We learned that Dr. King won the Nobel Peace Prize and we learned about some other people who won that prize too for doing work to help people all over the world.

We learned that there was even a Nobel Peace Prize Winner from Vermont!  Many of your children were intrigued by the idea of winning a prize, especially one that comes with money!  I'll be watching the papers to see if one day one of these kids becomes a Nobel Prize winner!

We will also have an assembly at the end of the day.  Your children learned a quote from Dr. King that they MIGHT be able to repeat for you:  "Peace is more precious than diamonds or silver or gold."  We'll be talking more about peace in Room 4 next week and how we can contribute to peace in our classroom, our homes, and our community.
